RESTORE THE BOOT MBR
Many roads lead to Rome, I think this phrase is very true, the small sample in a mailing list that I often ikutin, loads of people who feel lost if they have a problem, but if the floor on the mailing list, they will find solving the problem quickly, clearly , and free of charge.
Sample problems that often I meet is really, when someone is learning to linux, then they install linux on the partition next to the Windows partition, when one day he wanted to uninstall their Linux (for more novice users are usually identical like to try different distros) then what happens is, they can not go back to its Windows XP, because the boot loader is still active in the MBR (Master Boot Record) is the linux boot loader, Grub can be Lilo.
Now the question that arises is, "How do I remove the linux boot loader (lilo or grub), and replaced with Windows XP booting it?"
Ok, now let me write down step by step :
1. Insert the CD Installer Windows XP
2. Please Set the BIOS to be booted via CD
3. Blue Screen appears Installing Windows Select Option REPAIR
4. Log in to Recovery Console
5. Select the partition in Windows that will repair
6. Enter the Administrator Password
7. Having emerged C: \ Windows then type: fixmbr or FIXBOOT
8. Answer "YES" if the question arises, "Are you going to re-install the MBR?"
9. Restart
So the steps we need to do, to remove Linux Boot Loader (LILO or Grub is "stubborn" spent in the MBR, after we delete the Linux partition.
These steps above is not absolutely have to, this is only one way only, because we can do that through Floppy, CD installer Windows 98 or Whatever.
